“Garoinada” (sea-urchin festival)
“La Garoinada” was one of the first gastronomic campaigns of the Girona regions and is now one of the most renowned. Launched in 1992, sea urchins are its key product.
“La Garoinada” is held in midwinter during the January low tides, when the sea is calm and sea urchins are at their best.
This campaign involves different restaurants from Palafrugell, offering a set menu that includes a starter of sea urchins, a main course (changes each year) and a typical dessert based on local cuisine.
